The eCommerce market in Bangladesh

The eCommerce market in Bangladesh is experiencing significant growth and is projected to continue expanding in the coming years. In 2024, the market is expected to reach a revenue of approximately US$6.80 billion, with an anticipated annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.84% from 2024 to 2029, culminating in a projected market volume of US$12.44 billion by 2029. 

In local currency terms, the eCommerce market size was about Tk 568.70 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach around Tk 1.5 trillion by 2026. 

The number of eCommerce users in Bangladesh is also on the rise, with expectations to reach 75.5 million by 2025, indicating a user penetration rate of 35% in 2022. 

This growth is driven by factors such as increased internet penetration, greater smartphone usage, and a rising middle class with higher disposable incomes. Major players contributing to this expansion include Daraz, AjkerDeal, Chaldal, Evaly, and Pickaboo. 

Overall, the eCommerce sector in Bangladesh is poised for substantial growth, offering significant opportunities for businesses and consumers alike.
